Dual week entry and net loss

Having been very busy in preparing for next week's NorJam 2010 I never got around to sharing the grim news of a 1lb gain up to last week, but this week I can announce a 4lb loss, taking me to a net loss since Valentines day to 34lbs and only 9lbs to go.

Managing around 80 staff to run two bars, and a youth cafe, over the next ten days will mean a good chance not to be tempted, so I hope to keep this off before setting out on the final push to hit 43lbs by the end of September.

Steady as she goes - Barbecues are allowed!!!

Valentine's Day seems a long way back, that was where the 43 challenge began, and so does the size of the trousers and shirts that I have now thrown out of my wardrobe. A few clothes remain but now they feel huge as the 31lbs that have fallen off, so far, seem to have disappeared.

Whilst this is another week of no gain/no loss it is against a week of three barbecues, no real restraint shown and little exercise.  This is where I want to be.  Normal eating, normal living.

I still have 12lbs to lose, and keep off by 29th September, and have planned a big concerted push from the middle of August, so a levelling out now provides some respite from the huge losses experienced in the Spring.

Center Parcs walking beat Center Parcs Ice Cream

After a very hectic working week of 11 days without a day off, I was pleased to see another loss, albeit only 1lb.

A weekend at Center Parcs supporting people from BUILD saw a lot of walking between activity centres, which seemed to have won the battle with the ice creams and good food enjoyed during our visit.

I am taking comfort from the fact that the gains and losses are settling down, there is no crash diet, no starvation, no punishments.

That leaves 12lbs to go by 29th September.

With the NorJam 2010 event only a few weeks ago, the plan is to leave myself 10-14 lbs to lose between mid August and the end of September to achieve the main target of 43lbs.

Brewery Research heads in wrong direction....

Now I think I may have to blame this week's scales on significant, and detailed research conducted at the Norfolk Show on Wednesday.

With my roles of managing the bars at the forthcoming Jamboree foremost in my mind I felt it necessary to speak with many of my suppliers on Wednesday and take up their offers to try their wares.

The result was a 1lb gain.

I am still though well on target, and am aiming for another target by the end of this month, which should leave me with about half a stone to lose during August and September.

I'm off to center Parcs this weekend taking 8 adults with learning difficulties for a "holiday" as they call it - I'm not so sure.

I'm taking my ipod and a box of Pinot Grigio to help me through it.
